Delta teams part of Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival

It all began with a study to challenge the belief that upper body exercise should be avoided after breast cancer treatment.
But that was 30 years ago and the paddlers with the Abreast in a Boat movement just kept on paddling, starting a tradition of competition that spans the world, with more than 380 breast cancer dragon boat teams in 40 countries.
The anniversary will be noted at this year’s Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival, June 20 to 22, in Vancouver, where Delta’s Cheryl Watson will be helping with the 30th anniversary events.
