IBCPC
International Breast Cancer Paddlers Commission
The concept of an
international organization composed of teams of people with
breast cancer has been discussed on and off since 1998. The
first meeting of interested representatives from Australia,
Canada and the United States took place in Toronto in 2001.
With ongoing informal contacts and a meeting in Caloundra,
Australia on September 28, 2007 the International Breast Cancer
Paddlers Commission (IBCPC) was born. We are proud that AIAB
members Jane Frost and Eleanor Neilsen were instrumental
in the start of this Commission. Please read on further for
the Proposal, Minutes of the Caloundra meeting and News Bulletin

The IBCPC judges have now completed the assessment of the 5 bids that were received for the IBCPC 2010 Participatory Festival. In reaching a final decision the judges took into account the following 4 key factors:
a. Experience in raising breast cancer awareness
b. Solid support and sponsorship from the local community
c. Credentials of the organizing committee to manage the event
d. Experience within the breast cancer participatory section of dragon boat racing
The winning bid was submitted by Peterborough, Canada. The 2010 IBCPC Participatory Festival for breast cancer dragon boat teams will be held from June 11 - 13, 2010 in Peterborough.
