Special Guest
Paddles With the Boat to Nowhere at Deas
On the last
beautiful evening in July, Myrna Holman of the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation ( CBCF) joined us for a
relaxing paddle in Deas Slough. The CBCF is a long-time
sponsor of AIAB. Myrna is the CBCF Director of Volunteer
Development and Community Initiatives.
After a
warm-up routine, we were ready to glide over the
glassy water watching for herons and eagles while
following the expert coaching of Margaret Hobson.
Myrna was quite at home in Hope Afloat and is considering
joining a regular team.
We finished
our last recreational paddle session in the pub
(of course) discussing the next local regattas,
summer holiday plans, and the big trip to Australia.
